DHFX Studio / Vancouver FX is a special effects production studio and private training facility, providing a creative environment for artists of all backgrounds and styles. We offer classes and workshops on special effects makeup, prosthetic character creation, anatomy and sculpture, mold making, airbrushing, life casting, 3d modelling, and 3D printing for TV & film.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, our in-person classes are designed to provide you with the tools, techniques, and guidance you need to grow and develop your skills. Our TV & Film Industry instructors are passionate about their craft and dedicated to helping you reach your full potential.
Enrollment is open to all students 19 years and older, both Canadian and international. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive community, where all styles of artists can come together to learn, create, and grow.

Meet the Instructor
Dallas Harvey – Founder & Special FX Artist
Dallas Harvey is a accomplished special effects artist with over 15 years of experience working in both practical and digital mediums. He has been a lead designer and key effects artist for numerous TV, Film, and Music video productions. His work has been recognized in Make-up Artist Magazine, where he is also a twice-published author in the Lab Tech section. From 2012 to 2014, Dallas curated the IMATS Vancouver Make-up Museum.
In addition to his hands-on work, Dallas has contributed to education, authoring and instructing the Digital Make-up Design curriculum at Blanche Macdonald Centre. In 2015, he earned a LEO Award nomination for Best Make-up in a Short Drama for the Telefilm Canada sci-fi production Gord’s Brother.
Harvey has been the designer and on set artist for film TV & film productions Zombies: A Living History (History Channel), Exorcist Season 2 (FOX), Alien ORE (FOX) & Never Let Go (Lionsgate) and many more. View his full credit list on IMDB.
